Die Band wurde 2013 in New York gegründet von José Vazquez-Cofresi gemeinsam mit dem Sänger Edwin Perez, dem Pianisten Willy Rodriguez, dem Perkussionisten Charles Dilone und dem Posaunisten Ronald Prokopez. Es handelt sich um den Kern der Band »La Excelencia , die sich im selben Jahr aufgelöst hat. Es erschien das Album Renacimiento. Hier der Kommentar zum Neuanfang der Band vom Bandleader José Vazquez-Cofresi:

We are the same band. We went back to what made the band famous in the beginning. We felt we got lost along the way with the album Ecos del Barrio and it was time to start over. We raised the musicality in the band and the sound quality of the recording. It was our time to prove that our fans deserved a better product and the respect of a better band. We have embraced our beginnings but now took a name that is humble and represents who we are and not a generic name that sounds like a cleaning product.
